In this fast paced world of social media, information can be passed to millions in literally a second. Something simple can go viral and believed as fact even though it is not true.
This is why our politicians need to be more responsible with what they say. From the president down to the loly local representative, words matter, people hinge on them every day. Person A says something that seems dumb, Person B says something and its taken out of context. Partisans and news hungry media from BOTH sides will capitalise on it a minute.
What may have been a simple gaffe or conversation heard incompletely often gets blown out of proportion as if playing telephone with a million people. John likes the color blue becomes Jonny blew a bunch of people for a living when he lived in Singapore before the sex change.
So politicians need to think before they speak and people need to check before they share. Don't be the person that makes John a sex fiend.
