As covid deaths fall nation wide and cities start to reopen. As hope begins to return and the economy slowly crawls back. The pesky person holding the bar takes sadistic pleasure, suckering you in then rasing that bar again.
Models predicted 200k dead and governors extended lock down. Every time we reached a point when we thought they would end, politicians say "I've altered the deal, pray I don't alter it further"
Now we are opening and death numbers are in a frenzy, sources trying to out do the next. The CDC say 37,000 and John Hopkins says 67,000. But not to be undone, the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation doubled everyone numbers to 135,000.
The CDC numbers are of the clinically confirmed dead but the wild guessing models are not. Yet they are passed as fact and championed by the masses, even though they have been consistently wrong. How did they came to these number, their cheerleaders couldn't even tell you, and honestly they really don't care.
So we can live in fear and go with guesses or just stick with clinical data. If you choose the former, learn how to jump high because the bar will be forever raising.
