People say cancel rent which sounds like a great idea, until the the building power and heat gets shut off and your super stops working. Tenants will scream slum lord taking them to court and winning, some may even get an abatement on their rent. Now this puts your landlord in a difficult bind which may cause him to neglect your dwelling. So when you get little heat and your ceiling is leaking remember you got a few months free rent.
