Now that we see NY may not be able to pay unemployment without federal assistance, this could go one of two ways.
NY buckles and changes sanctuary policies or they don't which makes Trump looks like a tyrant, and Cuomo looks like he cares more for illegals. Your political ideology will decide that for you. Trumps position stands on solid legal and constitutional grounds but in this crisis the court of public opinion matters more than ever. But then again republicans never win NY and will lose in that public opinion battle no matter what.
Either way it's a lose lose for boths sides, their bases wouldn't be happy if they caved. Meanwhile everyday citizens in need by no fault of their own are caught helpless in the middle.
