Many people in states not so gun friendly are shocked and appalled at the site of others protesting with firearms. Where they live guns are used for crime and unjustifiable violence, so they think that applies to all. But those states are not the rest of the country, firearms are a part of everyday life. They forget there have been 2 major protests, not just in Michigan but also in Virginia. Thousands of people with firearms and not one act of violence. As of date in Michigan there has been only one arrest, there were none as far as I know in Virginia.
Even at protests such as Charlottesville where both side of the argument were armed, not a single act of gun violence.
Now lets look at protests in places like NYC, Portland and Baltimore to name a few, where guns are prohibited. Scores of arrests and excessive violence, many even attacking law enforcement. Public property destroyed and private establishments looted, bystanders attacked for no reason. Lets not forget Berkley where arson was the weapon of choice.
But many of those same people up in arms about gun toting protesters are silent about the actual violence in other protests they themselves applaud. Seems kind of hypocritical don’t you think?
Agree or not, the right to bear arms is a constitutional amendment, it can be regulated of course, within reason. But if state law says you can bear them then why is it a crime to do so? Not every place is like where you live.
