Congress seems to have no problem spending money on everyone else

Trumps "Big Beautiful Bill” is working its way through congress with much resistance from democrats, not a single one voted for it. The bills core is tax breaks for Americans and cuts to Medicaid centred around fraud. The CBO estimates the Senate bill would increase the deficit by nearly $2.4 trillion from 2025 to 2034. That comes to 240 billion a year

Estimated Budgetary Effects of an Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute to H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Relative to CBO's January 2025 Baseline

240 billion a year sounds like a lot of money right? But let’s look at how much congress approves a year for spending related to non-Americans.

Non-American spending
In a year congress approved 60 billion in general foreign aid, 70 billion to Ukraine, 25 billion to Israel and Gaza, 1 billion to NATO and 168 billion for immigration. Total 324 billion, 100 billion more a year than the CBOs estimate of Trumps bill and much of that aid will be or has been ongoing.  This spending gets bipartisan support with little outrage; does it also not add to the deficit?

Offsets
Trump campaigned to spend more money on Americans, and vowed he’d make other countries pay for it. In 3 and a half months the US brought in 70 billion in tariff income, a 78% increase. If that rate is sustained that’s around 280 billion a year. The current bill will also raise taxes on foreign companies, bringing in tens of billions if not hundreds per year.

When taxes and tariffs are ok…
Many democrats argue taxes and tariffs on foreign countries will hurt the economy. This is while they campaign to raise taxes and levy tariffs on American citizens. We saw this first-hand with tens of billions spent on the state level to aid illegal immigrants while crying broke for the same sorts of aid for American citizens. How could democrats be against no tax on tips, overtime or social security for American citizens but for FREE stuff for people here illegally?

If you bring in more you can spend more
I have no reason to doubt the CBO’s estimate on Trumps bill, but what democrats and the media aren’t telling you is how it will be offset by income from foreign tariffs, taxes and increased tax revenue from factories moving to America. If you make more, you can spend more

Bottom line
Spending only seems to be bad when it benefits actual Americans, why is that? If you ask that question you may be labelled a right-wing conspiracy theorist. But lately those right-wing conspiracy theorists have been proven not to be conspiracy theorists at all…
