  • Covid and the flu, why both matter

Its now almost May and as the weather is getting warm we have 2 things we can be happy about. Covid deaths are declining which is the best news for sure. But we are also ending one of the worst flu seasons on record.

As per the CDC 60K+ deaths were expected from October until now, no not from covid from but from the average seasonal flu. Now before you get in a tizzy, covid and the flu are very different, as per current data one slightly more lethal than the other. We understand the flu which makes it familiar, covid being new put us on edge and understandably so.

  • Can government cancel a primary?

    Can government cancel a primary?
The simple answer is yes, but that doesn't mean they should?
    Some background.
There is no provision in the constitution for political parties, that's why the DNC and RNC are private companies. Remember when Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz pretty much got busted rigging the primary against Sanders? Know why she didn't go to jail for election tampering? Because the primary is not part of the constitution.

  • What you say matters

In this fast paced world of social media, information can be passed to millions in literally a second. Something simple can go viral and believed as fact even though it is not true.

This is why our politicians need to be more responsible with what they say. From the president down to the loly local representative, words matter, people hinge on them every day. Person A says something that seems dumb, Person B says something and its taken out of context. Partisans and news hungry media from BOTH sides will capitalise on it a minute.

  • Is your mask protecting you?

Did you know? Masks with 2.5PM carbon filters will not protect you against the virus. PM stands for particle matter and 2.5 is just the size of pollutant in micrometers. These masks protect against air pollution, allergies and dust. THEY WILL NOT PROTECT AGAINST THE VIRUS.

Did you know? A scarf or bandana will not protect you against the virus. It will only slow the spread to people around you if you are sick but does not prevent or offer protect from a sick person near you.

  • When the data doesn't match the response

Covid 19 came out of no where. A scary virus that shut down China with the expectation of killing millions.

I don't think the initial response itself was wrong, we didn't know much about the virus. I think how it was communicated and handled after we understood that caused the problems we are seeing now.

Despite the data of a 96.4% survival rate and new data that suggests 99.6% survival rate, government and the media are still pushing the initial narrative. "You are gonna die fo sho if you get the crona yo." Which of course is not true.

  • Not everyone has it like you

Not to long ago people across the country were in an up roar about how millions of low pay workers that lived pay check to pay and were one pay day from disaster.

Now those same people who's biggest dilemma is having watched everything on Netflix are telling those same low pay workers who are at the disaster point, just stay home and watch TV.
